Should you stop fishing a Texas Rig worm for bass – is it old news?!? In this video I show you a technique I have been using to fish soft plastic lures for bass to mix it up: the Tokyo Rig. We go through how to rig a Tokyo Rig and what lures work best with it to catch bass.

6:24 Yeah, I don't think there's anything finesse about that presentation. It's extremely average in size IMO.
Boggs’ belly scratching is worth two double digit bucket mouths! Love that guy and he’s the top reason I watch your vids…keep up the great info Mikey
Hi Mikey Have you tried the Gika/Jika Rig? Would love to see some videos testing it out.
Old but works
Love your info!!! Thank you for sharing man! Also love your presentation btw, love how real you are
Hey Mikey I'm getting this setup hopefully tomorrow, I've seen ppl use this setup like a Carolina rig, as to putting a bead & a weight on top of the 1st weight, also that bait looks a lot like a helllgrammite creature bait except for the legs, hope I crush them with it!
Old news? Did the fish have a meeting and decide not to like it anymore? This proves fishing rigs are all fads then.
tokyo rig is the most underrated fishing style out there. You are finally starting to see the pros throw it. I agree its much more effective then the old school TR>
Hahahahahaha NO. Tokyo rig is cool and all but Texas rig is way more betta
Dude really! Forget the Texas rig! Come on now! Tokyo rig ok it’s cool, but Carolina rig with elastic floating plastics

. Texas rig will never be replaced. Come on.
I like to use two weights 1/2 the weight so to have point on weight in both directions.
Lol but what the hell do I know .
LOVE WHAT YOU DO HEY BOG
I haven't used that brand hook so idk how heavy that weight wire is but the hooks i use (VMC) have heavier wire so its hard to rebend the wire back to change out weights. Plus after you bend it many times it doesn't stay straight so I've had to use a hammer and a hard place to restraighten it. Anyway, what I've found is that just bending the end slightly around 10-45 degrees is enough to keep the weight on and it makes it much easier to change out the weight quickly.
I fish both and nothing out fishes the Texas rig but the Tokyo rig is better than a drop shot
Dude! Thanks for this video. I bought pack of these, months ago.. been wanting to try them in the creeks I fish to get the bait out of the silt.
Wow… LOL! nothen to see here. I was smoking bass on a Texas rig this morning just like we have for decades. LOL!
Bro, if you put the bullet up, then the edge of the bullet won’t catch on obstacles. I like the round up, because as it drags it moves over the bottom smooth. The way you are doing this will catch.
Great videos man love the info one of your videos you mentioned the googan fisherman I got screwed by a couple of them 3 weeks ago just put my little Jon boat in the water left 2 bate caster 2 spinners and a bag full of plastics and frogs parked my Jeep and trailer came back to the boat everything is gone the 2 young guys on the dock walked away with everything and I run left handed caster so they probably won’t even use them giving fisherman a bad wrap
To hell with the fish! The dog is where it’s at…. Lol
With a Texas rig though the weight is always ahead of the bait and more importantly the hook. If you fish this like you do a t-rig and dragging across the bottom you’re dragging the weight to swing back directly under your hook and bait. I know he’s saying the bait floats above everything but unless I see it doing it in a swimming pool I won’t believe the hookup ratio isn’t worse than a regular t-rig.
This with a paddle tail on a medium light rod is money
The title is borderline crap because of the first word. BUT… the content has a different tone and it's great content. I'm going to watch your other videos and you may have a new subscriber here.
Trying it tonite!
I have the worst luck with bass
. I need to tag along with someone thst knows what they are doing

So Mikey likes it short and fat… got it

Another bait I’ll be adding ! Solid tips n tricks as always
Worm is by far the best Texas rigged soft plastic.
Great information have to give it a try. Thank you for sharing

So is a tube, but it'll still out fish most folks if the right guy is using it

Tokyo rig is nothing more than a drop shot set up for people who can’t tie a knot.
I was making these rigs before I ever knew that it had a name. I haven't used a Tokyo setup in awhile. Time to tie one on again. I normally would use two small weights. Tight Lines.
