Still Learning Big Lakes And Cold Water | Kayak Bass Fishing

I started tournament fishing because I love to compete and I knew it would hold me accountable. Otherwise, I knew it would be hard for me to get up at 3am on a Saturday and drive for a few hours to a new lake with rain and / or 20 plus mph winds in the forecast. But, if it’s an event on the calendar, I’m going to be there. What I didn’t remember from being out of fishing for the last 10 years, was that I always picked the perfect days to go in the past. Tournaments are sometimes scheduled on days and seasons that I always felt less than ideal for fishing. This is forcing me to adapt to conditions and new techniques, and learning new water. Every trip out and each fish in these clips is about learning. And I’m driven to improve.
