I fish the Gary's with a # 2 G finesse heavy cover pitching hook , works well . Love the General . Will need to try the fished just under the surface method

I use 12lb Tatsu on a TFO 7' topwater rod and Shimano mgl 70 reel. I love the setup.
I will fish it straight braid if I am in cover. 15lb braid on a spinning rod.

Up north when the bass first move up on docks suspending looking at you like you're dumb af for trying to catch them I'll use this technique 😂. I throw it out and let it sink a little and aggressively twitch it along the whole dock without stopping back to the kayak. It's usually the bigger females that hammer it! If it's working, I'll use it to cover a lot of water..

My Wife loves fishing the wacky. I love fishing the wacky- been using the VMC Cross Over since they first came out. Just picked up the Core Tackle weighted wacky hooks to use also. Excited to see how they work. I also make my own stick baits. I can custom my sink rates using sinking plastisol, make them float using floating plastisol. I can make them anywhere in between. I can custom my colors and add all the flash I wang with flake. My favorite is a core stick bait. Clear out with orange or purple core has really proven to be my favorite.
Crazy technique that worked last season..a white wacky rigged zman zinkerz twitched aggressively on top…had some crazy action
Heat shrink wrap has been crucial for me with the wacky rig. It takes just a few minutes to put a 1/2 inch section of clear heat shrink wrap on the middle of a whole pack of worms. Each one lasts substantially longer and the action and appearance of the bait is not affected at all.
