It’s still cold on Lake St. Clair but the smallies are moving around. This report covers water from the north, shallow bays to the Detroit River on the U.S. side of the Lake. The smallies have been biting since ice out but we are seeing a transition in the water and hoping for a serious warm up to really get them moving in big numbers.

Thx for the video! I’m bringing my boys to fish for smallies for the first time the first week of June. Any suggestions?
Great report, thank you for it.
I am coming up to bass fish Lake St Claire for the first time in the middle of June, me and my girlfriend will be renting a house near the Fair Haven DNR Boat Ramp. I have a 19 ft Crestliner aluminum bass boat and I am not comfortable taking it out on the big water, so I am wanting to fish areas closer to the shore
Do you believe that I could catch largemouth inside the marina area of Swan Creek and also the channel areas and around the bulrushes around Anchor Bay Road boat ramp?
Thanks in advance for any help!
Thank you for this great report! I and 3 friends are coming up Monday for 5 days of fishing, our first time on St. Clair. Fishing for small mouth bass! Based on your forecast for next week, where would be a couple good spots on the Michigan side to begin looking for Smallmouth? Thank you!
