A TON of awesome new baits and gear have already hit the market this Spring! Between the Bassmaster Classic and the start of prime fishing season across the south, the influx of new offerings is crazy! Today we’re wading through the new gear in search of the best of the best. We’ve tried a huge variety of baits and gear and compiled a short list of items that are worth taking a serious look at.
Today’s video is focused around baits and equipment that will have a tangible impact on your fishing. From the Hog Farmer Flex Rigs and their ability to draw drastically more strikes than stiffer rigs, to the Quiver worm’s ability to shake and shimmy unlike anything we’ve ever seen before, every item in today’s video has the ability to help you catch more fish. When it comes to rods, we looked at both ends of the spectrum.
Crankbait rods are one of the most difficult selections an angler can make because different sizes and styles of crankbaits require such different equipment to maximize their potential. The Intenza comes in at a budget-friendly price and is probably the most adaptable crankbait rod we’ve used to date. On the higher end of the gear spectrum, both the St. Croix and the Poison Adrena bring incredible sensitivity within reach, and the Twin Power delivers ultra high-end performance at a reduced price.
Below you’ll find a breakdown of all the equipment from today’s video in the order they appeared. We’ve included links that go directly to Tackle Warehouse where you can see the products in detail. For the baits, we’ve even included color recommendations and rigging advice. We hope you find this gear review helpful!

Your lisp drives me nuts I canโt stand it Jesus. Your video awesome but fuck
Because of this review, I finally pulled the trigger and bought two #Shimano #Jackall #PoisonAdrena spinning rods. I bought the 6'11" Medium Heavy. I also bought two #Zodias 2020 spinning rods which are 7'0" Medium Heavy. I love these rods. I am wondering why Shimano chose to make the Poison Adrena a 6'11 and not a 7'0". I paired all 4 rods with Shimano #Vanfords.
Have you ever try o thinking of test the new line of rods of Gary Loomis Edge rods and see how they are . Now much videos about them
How does the Poison Adrena 276m2 compete against the Legend Xtreme LXS76MF2?
Poison Adrena 6.11 M+ . How it works with jerkbaits ? And any sense to pay for it if my primary baits is Jerkbaits or maybe some other option with better price ? And do anyone know the Weight of the rod ? Thanks
Iโve been a Spinning Rod user all my life and when I saw the St. Croix 2020 Legend Xtreme, I had to have one. I got the 7โ Medium and paired it with a Daiwa Steez CT SV 700…… Iโve caught Everything under the sun with it and itโs taken my fishing to a diff level. You feel everything under water!
Hi which model legend exteme 2020 is more suitable for twitching 130mm wobblers LXC68MXF ? LXC68MHF?
Thnx for hour review.
After fishing over 3 years with the Extreme spin, ive sold it lately and ordered me a brand new poison paired with a stradic FL3000. Ive had so much fun with the Extreme; it was great for all types of techniques but i just wanted a new Adventure. Im not really careful with my gear and I can tell you: the Extreme is defenitely hard to break. Tight lines
Iโm 22 and have probably spent maybe..4K on rods and reels these past two years. Having rods of high quality was on a bucket list of mine since a child. I donโt fish maybe more than 3 days a week for a few hours because I still have to work 40 hour weeks but when I fish itโs just a pleasure. Iโm all about spending money on High quality gear that is multi function. That 6โ11 poison is exactly what Iโm looking for in a jerk bait and lipless rod. Paired up with a lews custom lite and that will be an absolute ultra light combo well bellow an alderbaren and nrx.. Iโm gunna get it tonight and hopefully get it in the coming months.
Iโm in the market for a spinning reel. Which one should I get between the exsence vs twin power.
Is the Shimano Poison Adrena 7โ4 a Crankbait rod? Or is it a flipping stick type rod?
If you had to get a replacement rod for an NRX 822 dsr, with a full set of guides, would it be a conquest, Steez AGS, or adrena? For casting, which of the previous 3 mentioned would you choose for a versatile moving bait rod? Your opinion is greatly appreciated!
Have yโall tried the Lews Pro TI yet, I love to hear what yโall think about the Rod and Reel and how it compares to other rods and reels in the same price range.
Haven't watched you guys since the virus shut down my city ( Philadelphia) not to mention loosing my job. couldn't watch my favorite thing to do in life. BASS FISHING. But feeling better today and its great to watch your vids again. Glad i bought all my equipment earlier in the winter. And yes i purchases the expride 610 for jerkbaits its awsome. Thanks again for the vids. Its a relief
Best way to catch the biggest bass possible in Minnesota from early may to august?
Heys guys looking to purchase a new drop shot rod, I hear Tim say he likes the Megabass Addermine but would like to try a G Loomis GLX 822S, I'm going to pair either rod with a Shimano Exsence 3000. Please give me your thoughts between both rods, pros, and cons, please. I can't have both, thank you again in advance. Scott
Have you reviewed the Lewโs ProTi yet? Iโve been a fan of their equipment since I got back into fishing a few years ago for their quality and value. Although the ProTi doesnโt qualify as โvalueโ at $350, Iโm interested in hearing your take on it compared to other high end reels.
It would be great to get out on CL, but they stopped selling us out of county folks monthly inspection stickers…….fishing is the definition of Social Distancing….
Nice
Yโall should try googan baits
Is that a spy swim bait ๐ค
I donโt think Iโve ever heard you talk about the Curado rod. I love mine. Have you tested them? Pair all my Curado DC and XG71s with Curado rods.
Great review as usual!
Hey Matt: great video as always keep up the good work. What is it about sensitivity that affects the the price of rods so much more than other features? Thanks…๐ฃ๐๐
Love you guys. You ever fish Phenix rods? I love their Feather series but Iโm curious about the new M1 series.
Live in Pa and was lucky to get my fishing license yesterday. The Goveonor is shutting down everything. Stay safe everyone.
Or even great vid would be on G. Loomis rods and explaining what all the letters (sjw etc)and numbers (902 etc) mean
Maybe you could even do a vid on shimano reels and what xg,hg and all other letters and models mean๐
Hi guys really love your vids, could you possibly make vid about explaining what glass and other things in shimano rods mean
Legend extreme Vs NRX?
Great video as usual and more money leaving my wallet. I would like to see a video that covers what baitcaster gear ratio works for each rod/technique. Thank you!
Hear me out, is it possible we could get a video maybe outlining a minimum number of rod/ reel combos that would cover most if not all techniques? I understand that having a technique specific setup is best but you guys also mention from time to time cross-overs ( "this rod/reel that I use for Y technique is also great for X technique" ). I think this would help alot of us in deciding on combo purchases to maximize our ability to effectively fish different ways.
I like to see a tackle box setup by lures. I started setting all tackle boxs up my lure choice.
Could you guys do a review of the 13 fishing bait line up and bio spawn baits? Or have you tried any of their stuff? Is it good if you have?
I just fished my first Poison Adrena, paired with the Metanium on two of the best lakes in North Carolina, Shearon Harris and Jordan lakes and I really am happy to have that set up. Iโve been considering the twin power since I watched a great video from Japan, and being the Shimano guy that I am , it helps hearing your review.. Happy Spring ๐๐๐ฃ๐๐ Stay Safe & Be Well ๐๐๐
what new st Croix is tim testing?
I wish you guys would review more than just Shimano. I get that you are fans of Shimano, but I would love to see the comparisons between Daiwa, Garcia, Cashion, etc. Love the channel, never been a fan of Shimano.
Too bad all the lakes in San Diego have suspended all fishing :/
I'm thinking of a shallow cranking set up what is your opinion on the zodias 7' med glass for this?
Love the videos. You and Tim both have really helped me out on my fishing. Keep up the good work๐
