Spring Bass Fishing Buyer’s Guide

New Worms, Creatures, Rods, Reels, Line, and more! Spring fishing is is the best time to try new tackle because the bass are aggressive. We cut the learning curve today by trying all sorts of new gear and bringing you our top picks!

Matt and Tim are both tackle junkies. Between the two of them they try the vast majority of tackle that enters the market. There are a ton of new products each year but few are truly innovative and even less stand the test of time. We do our best to sort through the mess and find the diamonds in the rough.

Today we are looking at a variety of different products which are outlined below. They are listed in no particular order and all will help you become a more effective angler this Spring and Summer.

  1. My favorite argument with anglers is someone who has used say an Ugly Stik their whole life.
And I say exactly what you said, “You can catch fish on anything, if you watch your line and look for deflections, but if you aren’t paying attention 24/7 to your line that’s when you miss fish. that’s why i buy Loomis, Shimano, St Croix, Dobyns

  2. I can relate to that FattyZ. Since I've started fishing again I have caught more large mouth bass on that one bait than all the others combined. Throw it on a pro shroomz ned rig or one of the bulletZ rigs and it is money! I typically fish heavily stained water and I have had the best luck with Green Pumpkin (no surprise here right) and black.

  3. I gotta say I’ve done nothing but follow y’alls suggestions and buyers guides from rods an reels to baits, etc. y’all have never done me wrong and have helped me in so many ways get better quality, affordable gear and catch much bigger Bass. This is my big thank you from a small town fisherman. Always love the content keep it up guys.

  4. Words can not explain how amazing tactical bassin is to me. U and Tim explain things so so so well and in great detail that I'll learn new things on technics that I already know. Not one video is wasted on me. I never comment on anything on YouTube. But I had to say thanks and ur doin a great job. God bless u both and ur families. U guys deserve a lot.

  5. Have you ever used a skirted jig with a finesse worm trailer? Just started this with the strike king swinging swim jig so I can make the worm more weedless than having a weed guard. Hoping this will be productive this year.

  6. Do you have any trouble screwing the zman fatty Z on the shaky head ? I’ve tried a couple zman worms on shaky heads and it hard to get that 10x plastic to thread on. Any suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks guys lovin’ what you both do

  7. I always appreciate your knowledge and I asked about Edge last year, and I ordered 2 at Black Friday sale factory direct, and they are a bit difficult to describe , but, I love both of mine, especially the carbon fiber handles. I guess I’m feeling better just lining up with You Guys😉👍🎣. Thanks Again for your work and knowledge… 🙏

  8. Another very informative video, thanks. I placed an Order with Edge Rods in Jan 2019, after 12 calls about the status of my order and numerous emails inquiring the status of my order, I filed a claim with PayPal to get a refund. Gary Loomis rods are truly amazing, this new company that makes his products is awful, please consider this before placing an order.

  9. The Zman finess micro jig is a go to bait year round. I use the hula stick trailer. It gets bit much better than the craw. Try it you like it!
Leader for me is all about Seaguar Tatsu!
Another very informative video. Thanks guys !
