Spring Bank Fishing with a Paddle Tail Swimbait (Beast Coast Chaos-X Swimbait)

The paddle tail swimbait is a great option for spring bank fishing. I took the Beast Coast Chaos-X Swimbait out for a short pond fishing trip and was very happy with the results. The Chaos-X swimbait has a tight tail wobble and worked great for a chilly spring day of bass fishing.

  1. Phenomenal fishing my man. What a great day of action especially for 38 degrees. Good stuff brother. Fish love the pause!! I need to start incorporating that as well. Seems I always get a fish when I stop to scratch an itch, rub my eye, fix my hat, swap a mosquito etc

On another note, do you remember The Sassy Shad? I used to catch tons of fish on that bait. Like you said, lots of modern baits are just “modified” from older designs. Glad to see you not only fishing but catching 🙂

  2. Excellent outing Debo. Those 2 lbers are a lot of fun too. I'm loving my Pro Qualifier 2 limited edition…BPS just bumped 'em up to $100, so we got one heck of a reel at $50.

  3. How do like your Dobyns Fury FR733C
rod? I must have missed that unboxing video. If you like, the 733 you will love
the FR795SB and the FR806SB swimbait models. They make swim baits sail for a
long ways out there. Casting big swimbaits makes working a drop shot Electrifying.
You cast for days and if you get a one bass bite a day you will be lucky.
They caught more Musky than bass for me so far. A forty-inch Musky will rip the
guts out of a Deluxe Huddleston 68 instantly. They sort of look like a shark
attack victim from the movie JAWS I and II combined. At 25 to 30 dollars a pop,
this becomes expensive fast. If you do not use wire leaders say by-by to
your $50 dollar glide bait. I once bought two Spro King Daddy Bronzeye frogs
they cost $16 dollars each. I tied one on to 20-pound monofilament and flipped it
out of my boat just getting started fishing. I looked up and saw a large V
shaped bulge and then this big silver Musky head engulf my $16 dollar frog and
cut it clean from my line. I still have the other one and refuse to use it. I
keep it as a reminder of the one that was taken from me so ruthlessly by that Big
S.O.B. of a Musky. Dobyns swim bait rods skip four-pound bass across the
surface like mini surfboards; overkill is not quite a correct description. I
cannot wait for your first swimbait video. Please make one soon. I chuckle just
thinking about it. When you look upon your new Dobyns model FR 806SB rod and
read 20 to 40 pound line, 2 to 8 once lures, Heavy Fast Action you will glow
with anticipation. This is the mother of Bass rods and you sure need one for swimbaits.

  4. That pause got em! It's insane how just a slight twitch or pause of a lure can entice a reaction strike so quickly. Well worth being out on that 38 degree day. I usually fish the day before and after a cold front and I also push myself on time. Especially when they are biting!👍 Fun time! Solid feeeshes!😁🎣Oh, and the last one was the biggest.🤘🤘🤘

  5. O-Man! those fish haven't missed any meals, they were chunky. You're so right about older lures going out of play, when was the last time I used a Daredevil spoon, or any Fred Arbogast lures, or how about the old pork rind as a trailer on a spoon. Some of my favorites were the Heddon Torpedo, and the Tiny Torpedo, The Cotton Cordell Big-O, just to name a few.

  6. I've been testing out some finesse swimbaits in rivers and creeks I've found cast up current and pull it into the bay or calm you're standing or anchored in and in the retrieved the spotted bass love a little pop of the rod about three or four cranks in pop it and they'd smack it

  7. not a bass guy, enjoying the videos though.. my lord, I caught back to back bass casting a spinnerbait on friday! I don't usually throw lures at all, but hell.. had plenty of catfish and a couple turtles already for food, so I decided to do something different.. lol

  8. A little anecdote about your title and hopefully it makes you chuckle. I grew up in London where the Thames River flows through. On the west end of London, there is this big park. The name of the Park is Springbank Park. It took me three times at least looking at your title to grasp what you were saying. In my mind I kept seeing Springbank and not Spring Bank. Finally I separated the words and understood it as Spring Bank fishing as in Spring fishing from the bank. Anyway, I thought it was worth chuckle.

  9. here in Illinois we are finding snow cold and wind went to a cooling lake up in central Illinois not off my prop pond fish still no fish trying all your tackle no fish keep showing are video
