  1. Their is less and many times it's much less and it's maybe less about overfishing and more about the decline in the environment as suggested grounds that held fish do not anymore . If you have planetary forces changing line currents and the ph of the oceans you going to get disruptions . It takes time for animal life to adapt . The problem there isn't much interest in preserving . It's more about taking and sooner or later we will see a tipping point which we maybe already at .

  2. I’ve done a lot of freshwater fishing in the Midwest and it’s better now than it was 20 years ago and I believe it’s through management and education. Not by banning fishing. There’s WAY more management through slot limits, etc., and there’s WAY more catch and release. Unfortunately, the party boats rely on bringing meat into the docks to book trips the following weekend. It’s tough to manage when you’ve got so many people that want to get after it. Great show, btw!

  3. Understand the urge to avoid these surveyors but its a missed opportunity to tell them how many hundreds of fish you caught and released that day and every single day they ask.

  4. Boy are you right about the California coastal politics and the 'progressive' science that results in crazy appointments by the Governor and his Supermajority here in California, to the Board of Directors of the Department of Fish and Wildlife, Erik. Newsom and his cronies using their (very) far left 'science' want to consider fishing (both freshwater and saltwater recreational fishing) here in California a privilege, when within our State Constitution it is a reserved right of the people. The process of tricky politicians and 'science' taking what is rightfully ours, and then trying to legitimize the taking as 'scientifically backed' legislation, to supersede a State Constitutional right, that would at least require a change to our State Constitution, that would probably never happen, using legitimate political means.

All directors of the California Department of Fish and Wildlife (formerly the Department of Fish and Game [too sportsman-oriented to use the word 'Game', for the Supermajority's taste]) are appointed by the Governor, on a rotating basis. And, of course, Newsom has appointed everyone from liberal academics from U.C. Santa Cruz and Scripps who don't fish and are overly protective of many species (like the progressive Left), to commercial pot farmers and wine grape growers, who must have contributed heavily to Newsom's campaign coffers, to get nominated for one of the non-paying CA DFW Directors' appointments.

These types of people, as well as the California politicians who have ratified the Newsom appointments, are endorsing AB 3030, and like legislation. They have even passed SB 15 recently, which is just a political statement that the California legislature is going to pass more anti-gun legislation, without specifying anything the legislation is about, and with complete disregard for pro 2nd Amendment individual rights, as viewed by the current holdings of the sitting U.S. Supreme Court, and other Federal courts within the United States.

Newsom and the gang in Sacramento play games with and run contrary to our rights as California and U.S. citizens all the time, with complete disregard for current legislation, Constitutional rights or standing Federal rulings from U.S. Federal Courts within and outside the State of California. You're right. Don't trust them or give them another inch with the passing of AB 3030, as a great example. And, thank God Newsom is termed-out as Governor after this second term is over, and VOTE THE OTHER OVERLY PROGRESSIVE AND TRICKY PSEUDO-SCIENTISTS AND POLITICIANS OUT OF OFFICE WITHIN THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And please, no one like Newsom for President, in 2028!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  5. Thanks for another information report!
What's the reason for better fishing a break wall early am or after sun down? Are the fish less likely to see the line, hook, etc during those dimmer light times?

  6. I was wondering when those 'Launch Ramp Surveys' would come back to bite us in the ass, and here we are.
    Good ol 'Commie-fornia', . . . looking forward to $7.00 / gallon for gas next season as well . . . . "But the weather's great" . . .PPffffffff.
