Smallmouth bass fishing on the St Croix River on the border of Minnesota and Wisconsin makes for some great bass fishing. River fishing isn’t my specialty so this day I was trying to figure out the bite and get comfortable with the river. I go over what didn’t work and more importantly what did.

One thing I do to is I will use a drop shot or a swim bait and I like to cast at the cold freshwater streams that trickle down into the river because smallmouth always hang around there
