The first time wading a new creek is always an exciting experience. Trying to catch fish in foreign water is a challenge that I love to embrace. Big Darby Creek is located in central Ohio and has some amazing fishing opportunities! On this particular day, the weather was overcast with slight showers. My first bait of choice was to throw on a whopper plopper 60. The conditions seemed right and I wanted to see if I could hook up and catch my first topwater smallmouth of the year. i live about 10 minutes from the darby. despite the creek running right next to a major metro area it feels very remote. if you like kayak fishing this tis the place to go for channel cats and smallmouth bass in central ohio. I do recommend staying away from trapper john's canoe livery as that is a drunk fest and a lot of people. Great little gem kind of hidden next to Columbus

I had similar results with the Whopper Plopper 60 last weekend in the Stillwater. I caught some on it but had 3 bigger fish jump and throw the hook. It was my first use of the 60. My favorite has been the 75 for largemouth. I haven't had many fish come unbuttoned on the 75. very good video. .

Come out to west Jefferson sometime we have little and big Darby creek I take ya down either one if ya got a kayak if nothing got one you can use

I just caught my first smallie of 2021 this morning. It was only 12, but I am so happy that I caught it. Our rivers are a muddy mess right now in the Miami Valley from all the rain. At least they are down enough to fish. The smallies were being really finicky. I had three on, but only landed one. They were not taking tubes or neds like they usually do. I appreciate your work and patience. I have been out FOUR times and only gotten one. They are just not biting this year.

If your ever back in the area, just north of where your at is either Walnut Creek or Big Walnut Creek. Great small mouth fishing. Just follow 104 north and you’ll find um. Great video. As soon as you said the creek name I knew exactly where you were lol. Ive walked that section 100s of times. Keep up the great work!!

Man crawler banger video for a new creek you're getting to be the master !!! fish the hell out of that plopper it's a timing thing I've learned it'll come in time slow slow slow
I haven’t read the comments but my suggestions On how to fix the hook up Withany whopper plopper is to remove the first hook from behind the Tie eyelet And take the back hook off upsize just the back hook and do away with both original hooks And this will prevent you from getting impaled by hook during Unhooking the fish By a large margin

Only a few more weeks and you won’t be missing any fish anymore. Got me stoked for top water tomorrow morning too! But I’ll be using some poppers on the fly rod.
