Smallmouth Bass crush this swimbait and it's CHEAP ($15) – Kayak Fishing the Ozarks
I took my new favorite swimbait for largemouth bass to the Ozarks to see if the smallmouth bass would eat it. The 6-inch Berkley Chop Block has quickly become my favorite swimbait for largemouth bass. So it’s not surprising the Ozark smallmouth bass loved it as much as the largemouth bass down here in south Arkansas. The great thing about it is you can cast it on regular gear. I use a 7’3″ medium heavy rod, highspeed reel spooled with 15-17 lb fluorocarbon (15lb in this video). The same set up I already had for regular bass fishing. And the best part is it’s only $15.00…less than 2 packs of soft plastics and I’ve been using the same one for 6 weeks! I went thru a pack of $6.99 soft plastics on this trip alone.
