Should this NEW Lure be your First Glidebait? – Berkley Chop Block

The Berkley Chop Block is a new soft plastic glidebait recently released, that was very exciting to see drop!

As a beginner to the world of swimbaits and glidebaits, there is a lot to learn, and the prices of lures and equipment can be extreme. Berkely’s previous soft glidebait, the Nessie, I enjoyed throwing but felt that the hook system was lacking.

When the Chop Block was released I was extremely excited to get my hands on a few sizes of the lure and see how they compare to the Nessie. I believe that for someone interested in getting into swimbait fishing without breaking the bank, this lure is a great new option to get started throwing something that has a fun, aggressive chopping action at a reasonable price point.

While I wasn’t able to spend as much time as I would like with the lure yet thanks to winter weather, I look forward to spending much more time with these lures this coming spring and summer.
