Casey Reed discusses his preference for using a hybrid Shaky Head bait, combining features of a football and round jig head. They use various sizes, including 1/8, 3/16, 1/4, and 1/2 ounces, depending on the fishing conditions. He emphasizes using a 4/0 hook for better control and landing of fish. Reed shares his experiences using different sizes during specific scenarios, such as shallow water fishing with the 1/8 ounce, deeper water with the 3/16 and 1/4 ounce, and even deeper water with the 1/2 ounce. He also highlight the versatility of the Shaky Head for fishing in different environments.

Regarding bait, he mentions his preferred options: the Zoom Mag Shaky Head worm in green pumpkin, which he uses about 90% of the time. He also mention the Zoom Trick Worm, especially the mag version, for skipping docks, and the Z-Man Fatties for effectively skipping under docks. He notes that green pumpkin is their primary color choice, regardless of water clarity, but in stained water, they may switch to a June bug color.
