Here on the Lower Coosa (Lake Mitchell), it's a good idea to keep a fluke on at all times. Pearl, Albino, Crazy Chrome, or Silver Rainbow- depending on the sunlight in the sky- will all catch bass from the elodea, or water willow, during a shad spawn.

Good stuff as always! I live up in the northern part of Pennsylvania, and usually fish smaller ponds without shad. Any tips for bluegill-centric fisheries would be great. And maybe a fitness series for anglers— exercise routines and how you integrate them with tournament schedules, nutrition on and off the water, etc. Thanks for the videos: they’re much appreciated!

one of the craziest things ive seen- mid summer seeing a school of shad in open water jumping out of the water multiple times. of course by the time we got there the fish were full not a single bite
