MLF pro and Japanese angler Shinichi (Shin) Fukae joined The Bass University at the Bassmaster Classic to share a secret rig (which originated in South Korea) that hasn’t yet made it big in the states. You may have heard of the dropshot, the jika rig, the powershot, the tokyo rig and many others, which are Japanese bass rigs that catch bass consistently all over the world. You may not have heard of this secret new rig that Shin is talking about, it’s called the FREE RIG, and Fukae is here to tell you why it’s different than other bass fishing techniques that have been imported from Japan.

Like a Lindy Rig without the barrel swivel. It would probably work great with ZMan and getting their buoyant plastics to sink slowly by inserting nail weight.
Fisherman in Japan are coming out with some good stuff!!!
"Korean Bass Fishing Technique" Yes!!
Perch jerkin🤔 SuS
It's a Lindy rig…
Free rig is made by Koreans.
I want to see this in a swimming pool test
Free rig is no japan rig
South Korea rig
The cliches and puns at the beginning were painful…overall, great content
shin is an amazing teacher! I believe he is underrated when it comes to the smartest anglers. I have him right next to A mart
If you slack line a Texas rig it will fall straight to. I like how these Japanese guys come over and " invent" new techniques im 45 and was fishing a dropshot for panfish when i was 5. Wacky rigging at 10, we just called it a center hook worm. O well
Captions would be helpful.
You can use this on bedding bass with a small fluke or minnow bait. Looks like the bait is picking at the eggs
I literally laugh out loud, every second is suspenseful waiting
This rig has been around since the 50's or 60's. Not new in any way, shape, or form. It's a tear drop, or a bass casting sinker. Those have been around for ever.
A drop-shot rig is a bonafide 3-way rig.
The Tokyo rig is a bonafide 3 way rig.
Weight on bottom, lure above, suspended.
I call a spade, a spade.
Fish marketing at it's best here.
Japanese anglers have like the sneakiest tactics. I love it. So much good bass fishing technology outta japan
At 3:42 when he says this must be cast on " slack line " what does he mean ? Im confused
Title should be changed to "Korean Bass Fishing Technique". Shin's own words.
Interesting Ill test it out.
That ring on the weight has far less friction than a bullet weight. It will fall much faster because less friction. It works. There’s a pretty big difference in that and Texas rig. You can work the bait straight down and it’s great for finicky clear water bass
The secret to fishing. Put a lure in the water.
