Wow that is a serious setup you got there.
Love it, did you assemble the whole boat yourself?
Very nice setup
I sold my foldcat to my friend
I like the frameless pontoon boat a bit better.
I go solo alot so the foldcat was to big.
anyway, cheers to all the custom stuff on your boat 🙂
Gre8t video. Looks like you spent alot of money, but have quality products.
it STILL is!!!!!!!!!
It WAS portable!!!
Sorry man, it's a homemade trailer
Great video. I would love to set my foldcat up the same way minus the cameras. Can you give me all specifics of lights used, bracket blueprints, rod holder details (especially ones mounted to casting bar)? The more detail the better…maybe close up pics? I am also a youtube idiot and don't know how to access all your videos.
I have the same boat good tip is to take four slabs of diamond plate aluminum and place them inbetween the panels and have a deck all around and for the battery for a fish finder use two small 6 volt batteries and ducktape them together and wire them together for a lighter battery less weight on the boat. Great package getting the same motor for myself
nice video really nice job, but when i saw how close that front trolling motor was to ripping into the material, when you had it turned i was like omg its way to close to the boat,
Thanks for your viewing! I would be tempted to try the 3.5, the Colman motor moves the Foldcat nicely, sorry not sure of the speed. Suzukl and Tonhatsu have proven to be great motors, while Colman is newer without a proven track record. You can see my extended motor mount in the new video I just put up! It's my finished mount and requires welding and powder coating,
I can have them made up for you, if you like. Hope this helps!
Hitman
I'm looking forward to see your DIY motor mount, you have made the foldcat a great fishing machine. I have a foldcat as well and the little bracket that is connecting the floorboard and motor mount is not that strong at all.
How fast is the Coleman running the Foldcat? I'm thinking of buying one as well to increase the range. Deciding between the Suzuki 2.5 or a Tonhatsu 3.5, wondering will the 3.5 be too heavy and overkill? Thx for sharing
Thanks alot for the advice. Will suscribe:)
The first outboard I tried was an old 1.8 hp Evinrude and it caught a little air so I lowered the motor mount and that fixed it, the Coleman motor I tried next was a couple of inches longer when mounted but I left the motor mount in the lower position and It worked great! I have since designed a way better motor mount, I will try to do a video on it soon.
I think I would fashion something off of those straps in front of the seat, sometimes those small bungee's with the ball on the end will attach to a fixture on the boat, then you can use a strong patch of Velcro. There are many ways you can do it, you can fashion a rubber fixture and glue it right to the boat and mount to that. I just did one on my new Sea Eagle sport runabout. I will make a video soon!
Thanks Man!
I'm planning to buy a Suzuki 2.5hp for my foldcat as well, do you find it necessary to lower the motor mount or it just won't work without modify it?
Nice video. Your like an innovattive genious! Do you think it would be difficult to install a fishfinder on a sea eagle frameless pontoon boat 285fb? and how would you do it?
