The fact that bassmaster is willing to let people use $3,000 forward-facing sonars but not let you talk to a local and just make casual conversation and learn about the lake and the fish is ridiculous. That's why nobody watches it

I'm sorry, I like Scott but he admitIlly said that he talked to a individual, that he "didn't know" about a body of water that's on the elite schedule. So don't talk to people that you "dont know" about a tournament event. The person could be a snitch and record your conversation. I do feal bad for Scott though he is a good dude

I have zero idea how this is defensible. Even with Scott’s own story he’s admitting to breaking rules. Dudes been an info hound his whole career and finally a league has the integrity to enforce rules regardless of his popularity or last name.

I love bass fishing. Have competed and followed for many years now. I agree the fact that bass fishing is in a mess. I don’t believe it’s FFS. I freaking love FFS. ITS FANTASTIC! just because you have does not mean you will catch fish.
This is just very sad. It's gone to hell like most things have because of money. I've been a diehard over 50 years and it's just shit now.
BASS needs to define the definition of outside information between the guys that are actively gathering information and a guy who over hears or has an overzealous fan just blurt out information.

Worked all facets 10:46 of LE for 30 yrs. Polys should never be viewed as evidence. They are an investigative tool to possibly lead to further action in a case. Even at that so many variables can result in opinions.

There's too many tournaments. The idea that hundreds of people can make a living fishing is ludicrous. It's driven by marketing, all about selling more tackle, boats, etc. It has ruined fishing as a hobby. Lake are overrun every weekend with bass tournaments. It has destroyed fishing for the recreational fisherman who just wants to fish. And all these knuckleheads think they're gonna get rich.
Makes me sick too…Of all people, Scott Marten. Incredible stand up guy. Bass can go "F" themselves
