Ned rig bass fishing is a way of catching bass when it seems as if nothing else is working. However, what people don’t know is the Ned Rig, or midwest finesse rig, is actually proven by science to work better than other lures!

The best way to fish a ned rig is by slowing down and dragging it really slow across the bottom. However, you can hop a ned rig off the bottom and catch them too.
Making a few modifications to your ned rig can make you a lot better fisherman and help you to catch a lot more bass!
BassFishingHQ is dedicated to teaching people how to catch more and bigger bass. I will go over different bass fishing tips & techniques that will put more fish in the boat or on the shore. Whether you are just starting out or a seasoned tournament angler, my goal is to help you catch more bass.
That’s why the Yamatanuki is so good
I use Ned rigs for walleyes. And have pretty good success
Ive read that article. I used to put it in my instagram story all the time and no one paid attention
very helpful and well done. Thanks
Dude is so jealous he didn't come up with Ned rig
This video sure is "stupid"
I fish the ned alot you glue it on and you can fish it all day next time you go don't use the same one the hook will rust and you will lose a big fish so pull the old trd off hook are just use a new one
I remember reading about this study about 8-10 years ago. It used to be on the Berkeley website somewhere but I couldn’t find it last time I looked. Fast forward to the Ned rig…i remember thinking they finally figured out how to sell it
Makes sense, you don't usually try and eat something when it has its defensive large claws raised as if to attack and/or fend you off. The fish are looking for weakness. A crayfish that's lost its claws is helpless and a prime target.
Thk u so much for ur videos. Its so hard to find someone who is consise in the videos plus has a playlist that's very noobie friendly
I think it’s called a tube
Bass eat water dogs, salamanders, squirrels, rats, snakes, leeches, as well as baby ducks to. They will eat any thing they can get there mouth around on. I like to stick the barb of the hook, with line down into the body next to the tail . I makes it weedless

They said the same thing about the Helicopter lure. IT WAS A TURD
What color is that blue craw?
Great info!! Enjoyed the video!!! Stay Safe & God Bless!!
can you do a video on the berkley slobberknocker
stupid flanders…
Not that Crazy; All I use is stickbait
I remember back in the mid 70’s using a plastic bait called a Sting Ray grub that had no built-in action but caught fish like crazy. It was just a 3” grub body with a flat, spear shaped tail fished on a ball jig head and favorite colors were smoke and watermelon. I think they were made by the Mann’s Bait Company. Just seems to me all new lures today are some type of copy of lures from back in the past with a few modifications.
This is a great video. If you are lucky enough to own a copy of "Knowing Bass" (which I do), this study is described in depth. What makes this lure innovative is that it follows the science, rather than trying to design a lure to catch the angler. Glad you shared this info.
I like the info on your videos but you need to show visual more you were talking about a weight show the weight and how you hook it up
lake st clair during spawn can't beat the ned rig for smallmouth
Is that a mister twister poc it craw?
It might seem stupid but it works great…my go too lure and always will be
You should try the VMC Ned heads they have an awesome keeper
Hello from the England!!
Damn!! I am amazed!! Somehow I was never after a bass never had such amount of rods:)) just after pike salmon or perch ;)) but I am amazed with the knowledge You are sharing and skill You have!!
By the way- any chances shop gonna post the cap to England?? Would love to have one or two. Thank You.
All the best and some adrenaline rush!! :))
Huh…. now the TRD/turd makes sense
Good thing about this kinda turd is that it don't stink. Good thing I'm not into catfishing. Phew
When fishing gets real tough for me, I start throwing a 4 inch Mann's Jelly Worm on a 1/16 or 1/8 ounce open hook jig head using spinning tackle and 6 lb. test mono.
When would you switch to the big TRD’s?
Would you sent your ned rig?
Spot on the topic.
I felt the same way early on.
They DO catch a bunch of "Nicer" fish.
The BIG Smallies can't resist.
Saugeye as well.
New sub. Bub.
0:01 haven’t even watched yet and I already know what your gonna say … take the pinchers off ya craws…learned this the hard way fishing on lake Holbrook in East Texas … used to swap my lures out when the lost a pincher because it would spin sometimes on the retrieve … was running out of that color and wanted to save a bag for the tourney… caught a ton of fish with the one pincher …. When it lost both pinchers to blue gills I was about to take it off but just kept flipping it any way caught 3 in a row all 4-5+ … “I was cheap and broke in college back then “ I had $450 to pay my cabin rent and I didn’t even have the money for my cap and Gown ($300) .
so decided to skip My College Graduation @ Jarvis Christian College put $20 worth of gas in my Boat
and fish the Saturday tournament… Got the Win
paid my rent . And picked up my Mathematics Degree
on Monday . My family really didn’t care since my niece was Graduating from TCU the same day .
I must be doing it wrong. Because I never catch many fish on a ned rig. I catch them better on a shaky head and neko rig. So I never fish the ned rig anymore.
How you put the bait on the screen is klutch
did they try a bare hook yet ?
So should we be tipping our jigs with TRDs instead of craw baits?
Good video but not rocket science. Tube baits are essentially the same profile just has a skirt.
I never heard of this lure. I'm thankful for you guys taught me alot of things I need to know to fish effectively
This is a real crawfish in the bottom between small rocks. The most simple is the most effectif. Its a lot of years i fish with ika withowt hairs and insert stopped in the bottom.
So basically turn the craw into a short fat worm
What rod and reel do you use for your Ned rig set-up?
Would be interesting to know whether the different styles were presented to the bass in a different sequence with the same results (in other words, did the bass exposed to the "Ned" plastic first preferentially bite that plastic over the others?)…
You should come up to the north west, not only is the Columbia River a top ten bass fishery, but we have a few lakes that can rival any Midwest, or southern lake. It's our best kept secret
