Scary Bass Boat Accident On The Mississippi River!

While fishing a BFL with Major League fishing, Collin was on Pool 9 of the Mississippi River running from one spot to another when the boat went over the top of a submerged log and ripped the motor off the back of the boat. Luckily both Collin and his Co angler made it out of the situation without a scratch. Just a little shook up and no motor on the boat.

  1. Unfortunately sh*t happens like this, glad all were ok and was great to see how that Legend stayed upright and handled that well…almost like a power turn.

  2. I ran abroad a sand bar on the lower colorado river.and It put me high and dry .luckily I didn't break anything and we didn't get hurt cuz we very well could have been hurt and or list a motor or worse . Hope you can come back from this one. That an expensive accidentt.

  3. Scary stuff. Its wild that I came across your video because just a few days ago I saw a sales ad for an outboard safety leash. It keeps the motor from being flipped towards the driver & passengers in instances just like this. I never really thought about an outboard that could be severed off and thrown up and forward but I guess a few people have been killed from it.

  4. Holy crap bro, deadhead or stump? So incredibly fortunate motor did not come in boat. Mad respect for showing video and honesty..Glad your both ok

  5. Boating in general can be hazardous. Tribute to how solid the boat is as well. In part helped protect you. You handled it well. Legend should use this for promo. Glad you’re safe.

  6. been running a long time never hit something like that log! great advice on the kill switch and the life jacket I am guilty of not always doing those things watching this video tells me I have been lucky about not wearing a jacket and kill switch at all times… I will now

  7. I hit a floater that someone had cut with a chainsaw that was barely underwater that drifted right in a narrow boat lane thru timber that everyone runs. Water is over 30’ deep there. I was running 70 mph and it threw me into the steering wheel and my friend ended up on the front deck on his belly. It was impossible to see. After I hit it we went to see what we hit and it was still hard to see unless you were looking for it while standing on the deck. Huge log that a person couldn’t reach around with both arms and touch fingers. Knocked out my trim and locked my motor in the up position. This happened about a year after Ray Roberts opened in 1990. I hit it in 91. They let people come in and cut timber before the lake filled. I couldn’t imagine losing a motor. How did you get your motor back?

  8. I've hit more submerged crap than I care to think about. Hit a completely submerged log that took the skeg clean off. There was no avoiding it since it could not be seen. And that was in 30 feet of water. Doesn't matter how safe you think you are trying to be, or what routes you've ran 1000 times, there are going to be situations that are completely out of your control. This one was completely out of your control. Thank God neither of you were injured. I've seen motors flip up in to the boat and cause severe damage to both occupants. Man, my biggest fear when I have a co-angler in my boat is them being ejected, injured or worse. No matter the circumstances it will forever change you.

  9. I was a co-angler in 2016 and something like this happened. Impact speed was around 50mph and I was ejected from the boat. Water temp was 42 degrees. It sucked. Bad.
