Ever since the Manitoba government changed the rules and regulation for fishing in Manitoba, the derby scene hasn’t been the same. The change of fish limits and sizes has stumped Manitoba derby in a big way cause us all to think the same way. “What’s the point” are very common words that come out of many anglers mouths, with frustration. We went from fishing derbies where two overs were allowed, to where not having any fish over legal size has been the play. I myself a competitor, want to fish hard and fish fast, catching only larger fishing to win a cash prize. Not arriving with 5 unders and being proud of that, after hammering big fish all day the don’t benefit you. That’s a brutal feeling releasing a huge fishing that you know could put you in a good spot at any other derby in the world but here in Manitoba.
So this is my preposed Solution. CPR Format( Catch,Photo,Relase)
This insure the safety, well-being and conservation of our fish here in Manitoba. We all know the governments not going to do anything to help us out, so its are job and responsibility as the fishing community to implement a format that works so we can #MAKE DERBY FISHING FUN AGAIN.
