Catching bass on top water during my annual trip to Santee Cooper, Lake Marion in Spring 2017. Early morning shad spawn had the bass feeding on top in and around the vegetation. Too much fun!

I need some tips and tricks to pull out bass at Lake Marion. Any suggestions?
I’m thinking on writing a fiction book set in the area near Lake Marion. I was just wondering how Hurricane Irma affected the area since it’s suppose to be set around that time. Like were there floods, trees rolled over and/or crushed?

Santee is certainly a special place. Recently moved to South Florida not far from Okeechobee. Maybe I need to give it more time but I personally would still take fishing upper Lake Marion any day of the week. Love me some SC fishing. Thanks to all for watching!
