I was sand bass fishing below Eucha Dam in Oklahoma when I hooked into something I never expected — a monster flathead catfish! Using light tackle meant for white bass, I ended up fighting one of the biggest catfish I’ve ever caught. This spot on the Lower Illinois River system is known for its great white bass (sand bass) runs, but this surprise catch took things to the next level.
