The calico grouper, an important fish in both commercial and recreational fisheries, is also commonly called the speckled hind due to the numerous white spots that cover its body. Juvenile calico groupers are yellow with white spots, but as they grow older their bodies turn a dark red colour, a change that appears to be determined by age rather than size. The distinctive white spots, however, are retained throughout the grouper’s life.

the color of the braid is to make it easier for you to see it. Choose whatever color you like and use a SEAGUAR leader so the fish won't see the braid. Dead stick the crab or crawl it back to you.
