Here’s some info about how this kit came about from the seller himself!
I’ve a prepper for many years, originally from Florida and a few years ago when I was reconfiguring my bugout bag, I wanted to add a fishing kit. I looked around at what what available, and at the time there were only a couple that even existed, and even though there are more now, they still have the same problems. Mostly overpriced gimmicks with very little of the items you would actually need (namely hooks and line) lures and bait could potentially be improvised in a survival situation, but its extremely difficult to fish without real lines and hooks, so I wanted a lot more of them in my kit. Since none of the ones for sale were any good, I decided to make my own, but after seeing how much it would cost to buy just a handful of each item, i decided to buy the stuff in bulk and sell a few of the kits to my youtube subscribers, just trying to break even. But it ended up selling successfully on amazon so ive been selling them ever since.
I made it to have lots of the most important items (30 hooks, tons of line) and also be totally complete, not relying on you needing any other equipment. Which is why i wanted to include the mini multi tool, even though the ‘knife’ on it is useless and dull. It fit so well and is so useful for removing hooks and using the split shot sinkers.
I included hooks from tiny up to some huge ones, so a huge variety of fish can be caught, and even other animals in true emergencies (birds, turtles, etc).
I knew i wanted a secure container, and that’s why i opted for the aluminum tins with screw top, and not those altoid type tins that need rubber bands to stay closed, or weak bags that can get crushed or split open.
