Riverside Bass Fishing: Does “Almost” Really Count? Lake Evans / Fairmount Park

Does “almost” really count? After weeks of not catching a bass, I finally hook on to one in this somewhat hidden super small pond on the back side of Lake Evans (Fairmount Park) in Riverside. I fought the fish to shore, my drag was super loose, I didn’t get a good hook set, and the bank was steep so I couldn’t get the fish up without almost falling in, lol. Whatever the excuse is, it felt good to actually hook one – even tho I didn’t get a pic for clout on Fishbrain, JK. Regardless, I’ll be back to fish this spot soon. I’m thinking it’s a great spot to try a frog or buzz bait when the weather heats up!
