I always try to get some fishing in right before major storm systems so trying to beat hurricane Helene was just one more crazy tempt of fate. Since the fishing was so awesome the day before, it was going to take a lot more than mere 25 – 30 mph winds to keep me from trying again. Luck was on my side. I was able to squeeze my fishing in between two major outer storm bands. I managed to get a couple hours in before the squalls barrelled in. I just made it off the lake and home before conditions really deteriorated.
