These tricks will save you time and money the next time you throw a swimbait! We’re covering when to throw an underspin, when a hollow belly is better than a paddle tail, and how to quit wasting so many keitechs! If you want to catch a swimbait fish this Spring, this is the video for you.
We cover basic rigging with weedless swimbait heads like the Owner Beast as well as traditional rigging with the Matt Allen swimbait head. Next we discuss the best underspins for a variety of circumstances and last we take it a step further and cover how to make your own underspins on the fly.
Below is a breakdown of all the swimbaits, swimbait heads, underspins, and terminal tackle discussed in the video.

At 4 min did the lock Ness monster swim by. Nice
Bruh what's going on in the background
Excellent video, this and all your videos are so well explained. I have learned so much from you and Tim. Thank you. I.agree with some of the other comments here, you and Tim should have more followers and maybe your own tv show. I’m not a newbie, Al Linder and Roland Martin were my fishing hero’s when I was first trying to learn how to fish. Those guys are still great but, your videos are so much more detailed and descriptive, taking time to show minor details that can make all the deference. Many of the pros don’t want us to know these little tips and tricks, but you guys are making us all better fishermen. Thanks again and keep up the good work.
Hey guys , I fish a lot of shallow, weedy areas so I throw a bunch of weightless flukes texas rigged .. when I switch to a paddle tail ( like a kietech or a googan saucy swimmer) and throw it weightless and texas rigged 9 out 10 times it spins around in circles .. my rigging looks perfectly straight I have no idea what I’m doing wrong .. is it because it’s weightless?
Great Information Thank You!
I saw the Loch Ness Monster swim across the lake behind you at 2:30.
Love paddle tails just have trouble riging them until now thank you
Thanks for this i have been having trouble riging these thing's up
I found the prop lead head at Northern tackle
So ti. On the beast screw loc heads, I didn't see how you cod order the bigger screws to swap out????? Ty
So I got a pack of keitech swimming impact worms 4” and I wanna put them on a bass jig because had a friend do it and it slapped bowfin how do I do it right always kinda bent in
On the spring remover part, what if you put some super glue on it ? Would that help you to have more casting even after catching the fish(s)?
Agreed. Great Tips MATT. APPRECIATE ALL YOUR HARD WORK!
what the hell was swimming in the water
You guys continue to make me a better fisherman and are marriage counselors. 😅😅😅🤣🤣🤣
Been upgrading the springs for awhile now, and I keep the old springs to put into the front of dropshot baits that I'm gonna nosehook. The spring gives the Dropshot bait more longevity, as nosehooked baits can get shredded pretty quick on a good bite with the smallmouth. Anyhow, hope this helps someone, great video as always.
Still great stuff, thanks man.
How do you get the larger spring on there? The heads with springs are closed loop. Like Owner Flashy Swimmer with CPS 2pk
What size hook should I use for a keiteck 2.8 and 3.8 swimbait ? Please I need help I'm losing fish , any info will help .
Its funny, as someone who fishes reds and specks and now getting into bass, this info works inshore too.
I got some of the 3/0 flashy swimmers I just used them with my spinning rod using the 4.3 inch keitech, and I was getting bit but the hook wasn’t exposing. Do I need to bump up to a bait caster or do I need a smaller bait because I don’t have a good enough gap between the bait and the hook
Excellent! Really instructional. Thanks!
3:55. Loch ness monster just photo bombed you
Yeah much appreciated
Will a 1/2 oz. Matt Allen head work with a 6.8 keitech properly? I don’t have 3/4 yet..
Was there a link for the little under spin at 12:30 ?
I love your videos. You share so much, I thought I would share this and see what you think. To mend my plastic baits, I use a small pick, similar to an ice pick. Heat it with a lighter, insert in the bait to melt it and squeeze for a few seconds til it is cured. You can get the picks at Harbor freight or Home Depot. https://www.harborfreight.com/mini-pick-and-hook-set-63697.html?_br_psugg_q=pick+set
I don't know what im doing wrong I've been fishing for over 50 years and get skunked every time. No nibble no hits nothing its like all fish are now extinct. I use live bait, lures, soft plastics and jigs all nice gear poles and reels and get nothing. I have better luck going to the store to buy fish that's old and stinky.
Can’t wait till I get my Matt Allen Swimbait heads!
Greatest Info For Bass,Yall Rock 👊
Get you some Smash Tech Hollow Body swimbaits. They put plastic a lot further in the head so you have something to screw into.
I know this is a year old but I can’t for the life of me figure out how to get the original CPS springs off the original hooks to switch out for larger ones. Anyone out there have a tip how to do it? Thanks!
crazy bird at 2:46
Is that Nessie??
Anybody else see the 3D effect because of the white boat interior just above title??
i hand pour my own underspins, check me out on instagram. Maxwells_bait_shop. thanks
Keitech, what style & size do u like best for bass
I wish I could like this video again.
Matt I swish I could go fishing with you and Matt y'all seem to have more knowledge than some of the pros I love fishing myself and I learn a lot from you guys and y'all make me feel like I'm apart of y'all's tactical bassin family, I love how y'all take an hour or two out of your day on the water just to give some tips when you could be catching lunker's , thanks for all talks hard work and tips and I really would like to go fishing with you ps I really love fishing

Maintaining bottom contact on the Matt Allen jig head equals massive snag ratio causing me to loose rig I'm talking like first or second cast this is from the bank though do I need to change something? Because I love the look and design of the jig head
Great video, really enjoyed it and learned a lot.
Tear Em Up brother!
What exposed hook size do you recommend for the 4.8 and 5.8 Keitech Fat ? Suggested weight for the 5.8 on the Delta ? Thanks
Do you guys run braid to fluro on a spinning rod when throwing the small swimbaits
Awesome information, thank you Matt!
Not sure what I am doing wrong but my owner beast hooks don't keep my keitechs straight and hooks in place.. swims wrong and hook keeps jumping in or out too much
