  1. I personally would let it dry out this summer and pack it with betonite clay and keep it natural. That is the best natural clay to retain pond water. I’d also plant a lot of floating plants that are native to Texas. Swamp milkweed, herb of grace Water hyssop, water canna Louisiana

  2. 13:05 – This is one of those times that if you just took a second to stop and think about it… you would realize the pet store just gives you a plastic bag you acclimate your fish in. You know, the same kind of plastic Glad or ZipLock uses and you have in your kitchen?? Dump a gallon of pond water in a gallon ziplock, add fish, float, add tank water, float, repeat, add fish – BOOM. Done! Hahaha, but for real – we all understand in the heat of the moment these simple things slip by us dont worry πŸ™‚

  3. Hey Jon, a little late but my grandfather has 4 ponds on his farmland. The way he kept the water in his biggest pond was laying down a gigantic tarp on the bottom then layering dirt, sand, rocks, etc. on top. If your biggest problem is water level that is the best advice I can give. Hope you figure it out!

  4. Reach out to Texas game wardens. Idk if they help, but in Oklahoma the Oklahoma wildlife department helps people with their ponds and even stock them with native fish. Worth a shot. If not, they probably know someone you can reach out to

  5. Hey Jon!! I have a suggestion maybe. @BamaBass had a leak in his pond too and he used some sort of mixture that seeps into the soil (not sure about rocks if yours happens to hit rock but maybe) and it plugged it right up. And also helps the entire pond floor as a whole. Just a wild guess I could be wrong about a lot!

  6. AAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!! YOURE KILLING ME!!!!! FOR THE THIRD TIME!!!!! Drill a well. seal the pond. add cover. add surface area (its too small for texas). stock with fatheads twice a year until you see fathead spawners. Youre about to make another mistake. 30 gallon tanks arent good for more than twelve collective inches of bass long term. you need at least a 60 gallon, preferably 100 gallon plus. If you wanna replicate Bama Bass (Moby), you should do it right.

  7. Dig out a little more to keep your depth, then add clay. If you are not down to clay you will never be able to hold water long. You also probable need to send some run off water that way to fill up a lot more during the rains you do get.

  8. try putting down a clay blanket since putting down liner obviously is not a option about two to three feet and dig the pond deeper or start a new one, remove that island and think about hydroseeding if you are worried about erosion.
