  1. Fishing is the best! It's about the only recreational pastime I do, it's my release from the stress of life. Historically Americans have despised cheaters – those who use illegitimate means to get ahead regardless if it's a friendly game of hoops, getting a university degree or fishing, whatever. I, along with countless others, take personal offense at the use of FFS because we see it as cheating. I see it as unfair chase, as disrespectful to the fish, as disrespectful to other anglers just as I view the use of drones, wifi trail cameras, infrared devices or aircraft to hunt game animals – all unlawful and unethical practices in most states. Until recently there hasn't been much to devide us other than unethical anglers crowding in on a spot. FFS has tainted the game. Humans have always had the upper hand compared to animals, but through the lense of "sport" not "subsistence" we must have a reasonably fair playing field. With boats, 2D sonar and GPS we're pushing those boundaries, but now FFS pulls back the curtain and allows us to see, in real time, where the fish are, and track them virtually anywhere, and see our lures relative to the fish and how the fish are behaving to our presentations. That's not fair in my view and I'm not going to shrug it off and say, "do as you please."

  2. Preach Brother! I fish in a small club of old men (mostly all retired) we are allowed by rules to bring two guest a year. We have another rule for family members. We have one man who always saves his guest visit for the two night tournaments each year. Then he brings in a Pro who fishes MLF and Bass Masters. He is his club champion in Night fishing. We catch 4-7 lbs he catches 12-15 lbs. Now this isn’t a big money tournament, it’s only $10 each. But this guy has bragging rights to the night championship because he brings in a Pro. It’s not fair to our regular members. I guess it’s time for a rule change and ban Pro’s. It has caused members to drop out of the night tournaments.

  3. Evolution. No tech to flashers to 2d to MDI MSI to 360 and now FFS. The OG fisherman can take pride in learning how to fish without all the BS. But the competition/drama has been happing from RC and Roland to Forrest and Bill. Ike and KVD. Money has changed the sport forever.

  4. Really appreciate your videos. You seem like an awesome guy. The only thing id say here is for those of us who oppose FFS, its not a chocolate vs vanilla thing. We believe its harming the integrity of the sport and our fisheries. I dont think we can be silent with a good conscience. Of course, tbat doesnt mean we should bitch and moan about on all of your videos.

  5. I found the fishing community very much akin to the Military brotherhood, or the Police and Fire Department brother/sisterhood. It rises above race, ethnicity, religion. I am with you I hate the drama and BS.,

  6. Tried to remind myself today that it’s fun even when it feels like it isn’t. It’s hard when you went to win and are super competitive to remember why you fish. FUN

  7. Well put young man! Unfortunately the brotherhood of hunters has disappeared as well. I’m in my sixties and I remember the camaraderie amongst hunters. The attitudes of “ if you don’t fish the way I do you’re wrong. If you don’t hunt the way I do, you’re wrong”, have to stop. To each their own. Support the outdoor sports and support each other. Remember, it’s all supposed to be fun.

  8. If we leave politics and religion out of it fishing, we can have a great time. If you come at me with any of that delusional crap I'm pushing you out the boat. LOL

  9. Unfortunately the negativity and drama is everywhere . It’s the sad state of the world we live in. Just do what makes you happy and don’t worry about the rest

  10. It is weird, and yes fishing is fun! I don’t know about professional fishing. It’s like so many things add money to it and something happens. Especially as it gets more competitive. Just enjoy the good parts and let the bad fall to the wayside.

  11. It’s still out there man. Plenty of fishermen are instant bonds for me. Nothing better than seeing someone fishing and asking if they’ve caught anything or what they’re throwing. Money is the issue unfortunately, takes the heart out of it

  12. I might add, anglers better enjoy fishing while they can…Reality will set in soon enough…I'd give it 5-8 years & the decline in fish populations will be very obvious & devastating…remember this statement

  13. Our small local club is still like this i would do anything for those guys but i understand is not like that everywhere. Sometimes it's a good reminder that fishing IS fun. Great video 👍🏼👍🏼

  14. Amen brother. Ironically, I think for some fishermen, resisting FFS is a bit of a proxy for fighting again the overly measured, overly competitive, overly shared, and generally bad things that develop in fishing. Not saying that's true, but I think it is where at least some of the passion comes from. And for what it is worth…we are still here…."we few, we happy few, we band of brothers".
