Rapala® | Meet the All-New CrushCity™ Mooch Minnow™

Bass Pro Tour champion Dustin Connell put CrushCity’s new Mooch Minnow to work this spring, before the lure was officially released. He won both the BPT RedCrest on Lay Lake and regular season event on Toledo Bend with this new minnow imitator. Two very different fisheries, one with mostly spotted bass, the other with mostly largemouths, but the defining similarity was the appeal of this one lure – the Mooch Minnow, one of four new softbaits that joins Rapala’s tournament-grade softbait line, CrushCity.

The Mooch Minnow’s 3-½ inch profile resembles the size of many common baitfish throughout bass fishing country, from threadfin shad to perch to ciscoes to smelt.

The Mooch Minnow is available in 20 pro-designed colors, including: Albino Shad, Black, Black N Blue, Chartreuse Pearl, Electric Shad, Ghost Morning Dawn, Goby, Green Pumpkin Chartreuse Pepper, Green Pumpkin Disco, Green Pumpkin Goby, Green Pumpkin Magic, Green Pumpkin, Green Shad, Gizzard Shad, Perch, Pearl White, Shad, Sungill, Sexy Shad, and Tennessee Shad.

  1. Looks like an awesome new bait that would work in crystal clear lakes very well, and also catch a bunch of river fish as well like walleyes, Whitebass, smallmouth! I’m gonna have to pick some up, may try them with a Core Tackle Hover rig , or just fish them on the standard ball head jig. They’re gonna be deadly for Great Lakes trout and salmon as well jigging! Love the Crush City lineup, super strong plastic and good action!

  2. Without a doubt this lure, the mooch minnow is the absolute hardest bait to rig up I've used in my life, and I'm 65 been fishing over 60 years. As a company, you would have much better success in returning customers if this had been pre-rigged. I will not buy them again.

  3. Jacob and DC, stop lying…. you ain't reinventing anything. These are all JDM knock-offs. Rapala should be ashamed of themselves… they use to INVENT… now just full copy cats.

  4. Will this come out to the US market? I’m glad Rapala utilized TPE material. I love the original crush city series but my only complaint is durability more often than not I was replacing the lure after 2 or 3 fishes caught.
