Someone needs to do something about the zaldains… they HAVE to be removed from our sport. They are garbage and disgusting people. I can’t wait till I come face to face with them at an event. It won’t be pretty. gauranteed they won’t fish another event…..ever….. I’ve never hated someone so much. But it’s for damn good reasons…let’s unionize to get them out of our sport….maybe they can go get a real job then instead of slandering other anglers that are better than them….how many wins do they have combined again??? Oh yeah I forgot….dumb question
This is interesting, but they don't need a union, as you pointed out.
But they could use an association that they would have to join to fish Bassmaster elites and maybe MLF BPT. But i believe the BPT already has some kind of player representing.
Now comparing pro bass fishing to pro team sports is like comparing oranges to the moon, two completely different things. Pro sport athletes are employees signing multi year contracts.
It's better to compare them to pro golfer's or pro tennis player. Both are considered independent contractors. Both are running on a performance based system like pro fishing.
Bassmaster can only contribute only so much to the pot without an entry fee. Based on viewership they have now. So, increase viewership and payouts will follow.
The question is how? But forming a union is not the answer to payouts.
I do believe MLS is on the right track shortening their days, reducing their pros and spreading their viewership over many platforms. One is their app, two is My Outdoors, and three I believe is ABC reduced to a condensed one hour format taken right out of the old Bassmaster playbook.

they tried with the PAA a few years ago. Even had a couple tournaments. Didn't work out. Those guys are even scared to speak up at the threat of being fined or Watsoned. The big tours don't need them. There is a long line waiting to get in.
BASS goes way beyond tournaments. They're a major media platform to promote sponsors and sell products
What I find strange about TZ among other things lol…. Is the fact that TZ claims to be a big time conservative, but is pushing real hard for having a Union lol…. Last time I checked Unionizing is a very liberal act . Plus Alabama is a (right to work state) and if I’m not mistaken BASS is located in Alabama. Even if a union was formed. Anglers who don’t want to be in the Union and not pay dues still get all the benefits of being in the Union and get protection from the Union without paying dues lol…..
Life getting boring? Need more regulations? Wife hen pecking you too much? Join a dart league or play Tic Tac Toe against your computer until you win but why start a union?
