Prespawn Bass Fishing Tournament at Paintsville Lake

Prespawn bass fishing can be some of the best fishing of the year, and today we’re putting it to the test in a bass tournament on Paintsville Lake in Kentucky.

With water temperatures starting to warm up, the bass are beginning to move into their prespawn patterns. In this video we break down the areas we targeted, the baits we used, and how we located prespawn bass during tournament conditions.

Paintsville Lake is known for producing quality largemouth and smallmouth bass, and during the prespawn these fish start staging on secondary points, rocky banks, and transition areas. We focused on finding active fish and putting together a solid tournament limit.
