After our first tournament of the year, we are more dialed in on a better approaches to post spawn smallmouth bass fishing. We learned most of our lessons at the weigh in. They confirmed what we should have been doing. We aren’t afraid to lose. We don’t like it, but you can learn a lot. We fish in a couple of upper Midwest bass fishing team series and most of our lakes are on waters that have smallmouth bass in them. The fish at this time of the year in the North can go from pre spawn to spawn to post spawn all the matter of a week. You can’t get locked in to fishing memories.
