Great advice.
It’s something I’ve done my whole life, don’t think I can train my brain to change at this point
I totally agree. I learned to always expect a strike and when I get one set it just enough to feel the fish and when I feel a tug of war that's true I set the hook again medium pressure. Now I have a 90% net rate. Been bass fishing since 1967. It took years to realize this.
Good, instructive video, Randy. Randy, where can I watch footage of a bass' mouth being popped open by the head of a jig, or a slip sinker. I have heard about this for years, but it would be awesome to see. TacticalBassin has some great footage of strikes, but I've never seen what I mentioned.
Great video mate, 👌🎣👍👍👍
I have a friend that acts as if he’s trying to hook the fish and fling it to the other side of the lake at the same time lol and there’s no telling him he’s setting the hook too hard smh
I think it depends on how much line you have out.
Thumbnail shows u on the water,,yet ur never there😅
I love your boat Randy to me that’s the perfect bass boat and all you need. I just have a little 8ft Bass Hunter boat and for most of my fishing it’s fine
Hooks technology has come so far now you don’t have to set the hook hard especially with the Nano coated hooks. Gamakatsu and Fusion 19 a bunch of hooks nowadays are ridiculously sharp.
Early to bed early to rise. When you set the hook, cross their eyes.😂
Guilty. It seems when I am not catching many, is when it happens the most.
I remember my cousin setting the hook and the bass would fly over the boat , dinks though , bringing back memories for me , he used to set so hard on a worm , and I have the same problem , I believe you about what ur saying , a bite on a jig makes me nervous everytime cause the fish runs to the boat so fast most of the time I go into a live nerve , but Texas rigs and jigs I know I over Jack em too , but any other I don’t set as hard , thanks mr Randy for this info , I’m going to try to remember what ur saying
