I know I’m not the only one that overthinks this stuff at times. I’m also not the only one with a shop full of other people’s baits. The goal for 2025 is to get back to basics, keep it simple and focus more on presentations that the myriad of baits and techniques available to present to these fish. When and where are far more important aspects most times.

Sorry for the fuzzy screen, the GoPro was fogging up from the 40* unheated shop.

  1. I could get away with 1 box but when winter comes around and the waters are iced over I start buying new stuff. Over time I have collected a bunch of baits/lures. When I see a deal or see something on YouTube that looks good Ill grab it up. I now have 4 boxes of stuff. ๐Ÿ˜‚. Most of the stuff is still kept simple though. Natural and dark colors. I got a bunch of trick/finesse worm colors and crankbait colors though.

  2. Being new to the sport, I made goals to keep things more simple myself this year, I have overwhelmed myself watching youtube and walking to slow through Cabelas. Also gonna try and bank fish from my local pond more this year. Also try and get on Bosworth more lol

  3. Great video, I have recently started going through this process myself. I have started asking myself what works 85% of the time when I'm on the water. I would like to narrow my choices down to those few items and not worry about everything in the tackle store. Like for instance do I really need 20 different blade baits and each of those in 10 different colors? Or would 1 brand name in 2 different sizes with maybe 3 colors work 85% of the time? I think stopping analysis paralysis would actually put more fish in the boat at the end of the day.

  4. Going to college in Pullman, I would drive down to the Snake River to fish for bass. A bag of grubs, a bag of tubes, 1/0 EWG hooks, 1/8 and 1/4 oz bullet weights, and a couple jerkbaits. Fished all of them on a medium/fast spinning rod and 10# mono.

  5. Thanks for the video man reminding me I don't need a boat full of baits to catch bass!

Overwhelming going on TW to restock for the season with all the baits, colors and what not they have.

Went back to basics with a spinning rod and 4 inch green pumpkin Senko at the end of my season and boated my PBs…

    Happy New Year Man!
