ONE MISTAKE Cost Me a Paycheck | Lake of The Ozarks Big Bass Bash
This was my first time ever fishing Lake of the Ozarks—and I decided to jump straight into the Big Bass Bash.
One day of practice.
Two days of fishing.
And plenty of lessons learned the hard way.
In this video, I take you through:
• a short but revealing practice day
• losing an expensive swimbait before the tournament even started
• breaking off a fish that would’ve paid on Day 1
• completely changing my strategy on Day 2
• and finally salvaging a payday by adapting on the fly
Lake of the Ozarks is a wild place—bluff walls, endless creeks, docks everywhere, and bait literally flooding the backs of pockets. It’s a lake that rewards flexibility… and punishes hesitation.
This isn’t a highlight reel.
It’s a real tournament story—mistakes, pivots, and all.
If you enjoy bass fishing tournaments, learning new lakes, and seeing how decisions actually play out under pressure, you’ll enjoy this one.
A lot worked. A lot didn’t work. On game day, the best fish came skipping docks with a football jig. And if you wanna see all my recommendations for getting bit on Lake of the Ozarks, find em here: https://app.rockporch.com/llink/Q2D1RnxnFuQAB
And always remember: Fish More. Work Less.
