How To

One Bait You Need for Cold Water Bass Fishing – KVD IN THE ZONE

Who would have thought we’d be bass fishing in February and early March in Michigan? In this KVD In The Zone, Kevin VanDam shows how to catch bass in northern lakes when the water temperatures are in the low 40’s. Scruffing the bottom with a Strike King Rage Swimmer is a deadly technique when largemouth bass are schooled up in cold water.

  1. A-yup! Cool to be out in Feb. Can’t follow the heat though until… it heats. Water lags the air. And in a lake, there’s a lot of water to heat. Had a bite here in PA too. But in a little pond I had 54F in a cove. Gills and bass piled in. It was spring…for a time.
