In this video, I hit the James River on the very first day of 2025 for a quick, cold winter bass fishing session. With only two hours to fish, the pressure was on to find what the bass were biting. The key to success? A jerkbait and a jig, which proved to be the ultimate cold-water combo. The winter conditions were brutal, with wind gusts to 20mph and water temps in the low 40s, but fishing slow and around structure unlocked the tight lipped largemouth that came to hand.
