  1. Good stuff Randy. I recently got some chartreuse dye for my soft plastics so I can try your tricks in the saltwater. I fish with swim bait type soft plastics probably 80% of my time fishin because they just work. They're so versatile, just casting and reeling works, hopping the bottom works, they catch fish trolling and they're awesome under a popping cork.
A popping cork is a bobber with a heavy line or a piece of metal that the float slides on. They have metal beads on the bottom and usually glass or plastic beads above the float. You hang a swim jig ir shrimp tail on a jig head on 2' of leader under the cork. Then you cast it and give it a quick tug or pop so the float makes noise and turns on it's side. Then it stands up again and the beads make a clicking sound. Saltwater fish come thinking there's bait being eaten and there's your jig. It's stupid simple but wow you can locate fish that way. Then you can use a more subtle presentation but for searching a popping cork is hard to beat. I bet bass would fall for it too. You can use a popper lure instead and catch fish with it too.
