  1. Great video,I love top water,it was the lure that made me love bass,60 years ago, my mentor gave me a jitterbug made to look like a frog, slowly pulling through trees, a five attacked it,I probably threw 10 thousand times,I repainted it many times, you're great for the memories.

  2. Probably around the same time frame I bought my first Lunker Lure. Slaughtered the bass in local ponds around Florence. My personal best was an 8.25 lb bass and that still stands as my best today. Six ft. Fiberglass rod with a Zebco 33.

Lol. I need an official ruling here, i caught my first bass ever as a kid on a floating number 11 rapala while it was floating do we consider that top water? I love top water! I make my own buzzbaits and carve my own top waters from wood. Top waters are the easiest lures to make yourself. 😊

  4. Ugh, sorry to hear about the frozen pipes – minus 14 degrees is unpleasant – This winter I have purchased some topwater lures – hoping I can experience the explosive bite you talk about !!

  5. Sorry to hear about your frozen pipe issues . That sucks ! It's been a brutality cold winter .we haven't seen open water in no.illinois since Thanksgiving. Hopefully things should get better for all of us soon . Really enjoy your listening to your fishing stories . Another cool video .Thanks Dale .

  6. Man I luv that top water bite !! Ain’t nuthn’ like it ! My PB came on a black Zara Spook after a very severe lightning storm. It was spring break on the full moon of March of 2007 and I had to get out of the house cuz I had been heamed up with the kids for a week. Anyway as I was driving to the lake I saw snakes , deer, rabbits and squirrels. The wildlife was really active. I was just going to bank fish. Well when she hit that spook it looked like a toilet flushed. She was post spawn, she weighed 13 lbs. I released her. I pray she survived.

  7. I'm a retired plumber 40 years !That pvc gets so brittle in the cold ! If ya put pex in ! Make sure ya put some drains at the low points ! And blow it out with a compressor! If I was closer I'd help ya out bud ! Insulate it also * peace buddy !
