  1. But craws dont really hop. They crawl along looking gor crevicea to disappear into. I do hop sometimes but a scoot scoot crawl type presentation works best for me. If you watch videos of crawdads and how they work along the bottom they'll crawl and and crawl along the bottom the only time that they really try to shoot away from anything it's when they're trying to escape a predator and then they do a quick burst followed by another quick burst real fast and then they stop. That's how I work mine because it for me that's how it works best and get honestly to me it looks more natural I'm not discrediting your knowledge or information. Both types of retrieve the presentations work but some people myself included need that more subtle natural x retrieve. I work at more erratically doing hops if the water's dirtier because it's going to displace more water to allow those fish to use their lateral line to find the bait but if I'm pitching and flipping into Clearwater se24 the visibility then those fish are going to be tight to that cover and that's low presentation scoot scoot is going to personally get me more strikes again I'm not discrediting or saying that you're not right because you are but we can't forget about the other types of presentations and retrieve the also we don't want to get to dialed into one thing and it not work.

  2. Hey Randy great in depth video thanks for that bud . Awesome as always that's key info. God bless. Ps I really liked the big worm video showing us the retrieves you use.

  3. Good tips Randy. I’m going to my favorite lake tomorrow and usually start out pitching a z hog jr. in grass and pads with a few lay downs. I’ve caught 4 over 3 lbs. with the z hog jr. Hoping for a big one tomorrow!

  4. Randy i cannot believe u don't flip with the same hand ur setting the hook with that let's u get caught in the middle of those quick eats while ur switching hands. I lost tons of fish that way. I taught myself to flip n pitch with a left hand reel so I ALWAYS ON THE READY. So if maximizing our opportunities is always the deal in fishing I'd recommend to others that they either learn to flip n pitch with the arm they r setting the hook with or learn to use a reel opposite of their normal use to keep from switching hands.
