  1. In one week alone this spring, I caught my pb pike, bowfin, and almost my biggest Northern strain largemouth on the hazedong shad. Haven't seen many guys throwing it out here.. super finessey!! The crappie will choke it for sure

  2. Hi Randy,
Are you using the 1/0 or 3/0 sized hook on this head? To me the 3/0 seems like it would be too big for a 3" bait, let alone when the head is cut off. I'm just about to start chasing smallmouth on the St Lawrence and would love to try this out.
    Thanks!

  3. Can anyone share an informed guess as to whether Randy was using the 3" or the 4.2" size ? I'm guessing at 1/8 oz. it may be the smaller 3" – but I don't know that! Thanx!

  4. Very good tip, I never rig my swimbaits "four-eyed" either. I fish a lot of clear, shallow water, and I can say the more realistic the bait the better the chance of drawing a bite, in my experience.

You might like the ZMan Slim SwimZ for this rig, they already have a flat nose on them, and I like the way the tail sticks up when I pause it or hop off the bottom.

  5. Rigging sumthing up with 2 sets of eyes always bothered me as well. My region in AZ has nothing but clear water fisheries, so 4 eyeballs is gonna look "off". But to my surprise they eat all 4 eyes just as much if not more than 2 eyed rigs. In my opinion kietech's tails movement doesn't match thier speed. I'm partial to MegaBass except for underspins than I use AA.
