Randy goes in detail about how he modifies his Megabass Magdraft swimbaits not only to catch more bass, but to land more bass that hit the bait. #swimbaits #bassfishing #megabassmagdraft #bigswimbaits #fishing #springswimbaits

Excellent tips!!! Thanks Randy …
If you use a permanent red wide point sharpie, the look will be cleaner and will last.
New subscription here seem like a cool informative channel keep up the good work.. tight lines mates
Casey.
Nice
that poor bait. Looks like one of the "special" kids got ahold of it !
Thank goodness these are priced pretty decent hell u just told us to take scissors to our brand new high dollar swimbaits!!! Lol I just finally got my four magdrafts in two rigged and two freestyles can't wait to catch a giant!!! I've throw 3 to 4 inch swimbaits for long time but finally decided to try some big bait and glide bait fishing!!
"we're up to almost 20K subscribers" (currently: 85.1K). Good on you Randy!
you painted the magdraft like a clown.Name her it is "IT".😂
Wouldn’t The modification I having the stinger hook further down on the swim bait tear it up faster???
If the joker 🤡 was a swimbait
If the joker was a fish
Excellent mods thank you sir for your time.
Your a very smart a definitely a good bass fisherman, but Chris Zaldain doesn't do any of that and catches hogs. I think you over complicate things just a little much
Love the tips, just not sure if I'M going to try this, but maybe, love the red eye and Gill concept, feel like I'm going to destroy the 13 dollar bait, definitely not a cheap swim bait!!!#KEEPEMCOMING
I mainly fish for pike with large soft plastic swimbaits. No need to add slits for pike as they tend to do it for you 😆
Megabass Y'all taking notes.
Randy use forceps when putting a split ring on a swivel. Grab and lock the eye of the swivel with forceps. Use the forceps to guide the swivel eye onto the split ring that is held open with split ring pliers. I swap out split rings and hooks on most of my swimbaits and use this for the ones with swiveling hook hangers. Also do it with spinnerbait blade swivels, though it's a little different because of the swivel.
Use any scent on plastics?
Randy , do you still throw the deep x 100s , the old ones ? Would love to hear about them . One of my favorites. Thanks
I remember buying a pack of baits called "Chatterbaits" back in the 80's… (the original Chatterbait was a soft plastic jerkbait & came w/a pack of bubble rattles- they had a pocket molded into them and rattled as you popped 'em around). The Chatterbait was sold at a little bait shop in Nacogdoches, TX & I was thinking, "I bet these things won't catch fish like my buddy said they did!" Well I was mistaken. ….Sort of like what you'd said in an earlier one of your videos- only a few few real bait category advancements in the last 30 years. Swimbaits, Senkos, bladed jigs, ?, ?, … You'll never know unless you buy some and dedicate some days chunking them under the right conditions.
Awesome info as usual! Actually just bought my first mag draft few weeks ago . What type & size line do you recommend?
So refreshing to hear the gospel without any smoke and mirrors. Thank you Randy!
Love your channel keep up the good work
I use a qtip and the red spike it dye for my magdraft it works really good and stays on also gives it a lil scent
I place the hooks the same location s as you show, but I use 80lb braid instead of swivels n split rings.
Thanks for the tip Randy! What are your thoughts on red hooks?
Randy I'm pushing your channel on facebook. I'm in lots of fishing groups on Facebook so I am telling everyone to like and subscribe to your channel. Thanks for the tips, goodluck and God Bless!!!
Hahaha u crack me up dude!
After a closed mouth swipe, you gotta dead stick it. I wish there was a way to have these swimbaits work how they do, but then change buoyancy and not sink, but they'll swipe to wound/stun/kill food, then come back and eat it. I fish striper a lot and they're hard to catch because of this activity. They'll hit it, then follow it, but the swimbaits sink like a rock when they're not moving. We almost need a soft jerkbait or something to do both things at the same time.
So, I have a question. Is it prudent to use lures which represent organisms that are native to where you're fishing? I've been hung up on this idea lately, & I've been compelled to re-stock my tackle more with lures that look like the critters in my area (western NY has lots of spot tail shiners, bluegill, brown crayfish & gobies).
Opinions?
For two more mods to can attach the hook hanger to the top portion to be able to bottom bounce it and make it more weedless and you can also cut the magnetic harness out and use that slot to use a beast hook and make it weedless,, for the 8in you can use a 10/0 or a 12/0
Have you thrown the freestyle? I like that one because I don’t get snagged as bad as this one.
Could hear Chris Zaldain gasp all the way over here in South Carolina 😆
Love the simple modification to put a head hook and keeping a swivel for the bottom treble. Has anyone tried creating a rig with single strand steel wire?
What's better, spark shad, mag draft original, or freestyle?????
they make 5 inch too… shhhhhhh…. dont tell anyone….

Hey, nice vid, and congratulations on 20k. What's your opinion on the big keitechs, like the 5.8 and 6.8? Thanks
Randy Blaukat the YouTuber lol
Thanks again for for the videos. I’ve been watching them on my lunch break at work. Helps pass the time and great info!
Randy, do you ever use a bait right out of the package? I love these tips, they're so helpful. Especially for someone like me, who was a crappie fisherman for most of my 38 years. I got into bass the last 3 years and I live and breathe it. I have never gotten into fishing like I have over the past 3 years. Bass fishing is so much fun, that is all I think about. I can't wait for the ice to melt up north.
Awesome video randy. Hey by the way. Have u been to grand lately? Is it frozen
Thank you randy
