My Rods/Reels for throwing Big Swimbaits!

Update: I now run a 110mm hawgtech handle on the Antares that you guys have been seeing in my latest videos!

Also, it looks like Shimano has discontinued the 8′ XH Curado rod. Im not sure on replacements for that rod series, and i do not want to recommend anything to you guys without having personal experience with it. But… a bunch of my buddies run the IMX SWBR 965 and 966 and they love them! That may be my next upgrade:)

  1. Be careful with the Antares DC MD if you are swinging big baits, the x-ship (pinion gear bearing) is only a single bearing at the spool shaft side, Vs the 2 bearing x-ship for your regular centrifugal Antares. More than a few DC MD were sent in for warranty due to bearing issues here in Singapore. Could pick up a pre-owned DC MD for Singapore $350-$400 range. Externally looks great, but micro gears and bearings half-dead.

  2. LB. I bought a met. You were right. The Bantam & met are 2 very different reels. Both are incredible. May have to get a K for cranking not sure if my Chronarchs will hold up. Perhaps a Tranx?

  3. LB, Keep the Tranx on with 80 braid just switch you leader 20lb or 25lb when you fish I-slides 185 or 262. Give it a try. Hey all !!! Smash that thumbs button up.🤙😎
