I was born and raised in Chicago, but after working 12 years in the financial Industry regulating the futures and options markets at the CME/CBOT I decided to pursue my passion fishing professional tournaments and left my full time corporate job. At that point, I moved to Junction City, WI with my wife Sara and two boys Hank and Duke. I’ve been fishing professionally since 2011 and full-time since 2015. I’ve qualified for seven MLF Championships and won over a half million in tournament winnings at the professional level.
I caught a 5lb Muskie with a smaller black whopper plopper and a 11lb Muskie with a blue gill colored whopper within a few days. The Kietech noisy flapper has caught me 70-80 bass in the last few months.

The Cane Walker is my new fall favorite!
I hear half the pros saying the fish key in on smaller baitfish and the other half say they chase bigger baitfish. Wtf
My top fall top water baits are 1)Stike King Sexy Dawg. Like the Canewalker I can cast that thing a freaking mile. It's less than $10, and it's sooooo easy to walk. I upgrade the hooks to Mustad KVD triple grip. It's probably my favorite topwater of all time. 2) Whopper Plopper 90 size. 3) Boogerman buzzbait. It's loud and obnoxious but it catches bigguns. If I want to go with a quieter buzzbait I use the D&M Slow Roller. Honorable mention goes to the Lucky Craft Gunfish 117. It's very similar to the Canewalker where as the Sexy Dawg is more like the Vixen. Now tell me this, do your lakes, rivers get very windy in the fall making it harder to use some of these top waters? It's a struggle for me sometimes.

I know this sounds crazy. But on lake of the ozarks this time of year, i do really well with a big plastic worm and top water half way back in coves. Definitely want to get a vixen and try it.
I still love to throw a crazy shad, because I can stop and start it close to cover. Old school but still works very well! 👍🎣
I would love to give you some other bait that I use but you have pretty much nailed down what I use except the crawler type baits, I have not used them much, I do love the buzz bait and vixen very, very much.
Morning! Just wondering which size pompadour you’re fishing and if the smaller size is appropriate for smallies. It may be too slow a presentation for what I need anyway but my fish seem to really like a big commotion right now so I’m gonna give it a whirl. Thanks

I've done good with a bigger wake bait, a great option available at an affordable price is the 6" Fish lab Bio Wake
Man I wish I could get on the water right now- they're schooling. My brother is selling his boat though- divorce, and trying to chase them in the kayak doesn't work out to well. In fact, trying to get on the water at all on a lake like Pickwick is kind of crazy on a kayak like mine. I have to stick to the smaller stuff- but they don't school like that on the smaller lakes I fish. I've never seen them busting the surface like that- I guess because there's no shad or anything like that for them to be chasing that way. They eat bluegill, baby carp, catfish, baby bass, and craws- lots of craws. The action is much slower.
Many many people say “small baits are the way to go in the fall”. Others say “bigger profile” because they want a big meal. Many say “top water is the way to go in the fall”. Others say “Jigs—especially full size jigs—are a must for for fall”. It’s so confusing!
Lots of windy days in fall. Do you throw topwaters on windy days for smallmouth? If so, what type is best?

In Alabama our temperature has been lowering slowly.. I’m expecting a noticeable cold front this weekend.. will it possible effect the bass bite negatively during the front.. tomorrow morning and Sunday morning.

I like Raid Dodge crawler, it calls them up. Great video. I like a floating minnow too. I own a ton of old bang-0-lures. They’re killer baits
For a unique buzz-bait sound hold the blade out the window of your car as you drive. It will develop a very high pitch squeaking noise as the blade polishes the rivet.
Topwater is my favorite. Some days, that is the only baits in my boat. 😊
