  1. Thanks for this video. I have been wanting to purchase a Hobie 14 pro angler. Currently I fish from a Ranger 198p aluminum boat. I appreciate you showing the struggles you had to overcome. I stand while fishing. Sitting down and casting and trying to make accurate casts looks to difficult. Also standing up, at best, looks to be a skill that a younger more agile angler might possess. Trying to work the trolling motor looks to be a hassle. In my opinion, the noise level of rattling culling boards, rod and reel noise inside the hull is a lot. Seems like this noise would be a fish turn off.

Tackle storage and the extra rod position seems to be a hassle also.

    Thanks for the enlightenment.

  2. I've always enjoyed your videos. Thanks for sharing your kayak experience and your honest opinion about it. Sorry but I had to laugh at your dark moments lol.

  3. Ken I am so glad that you decided to fish a tournament in a kayak. The etiquette for how other vessels treat your kayak when you're fishing is the same as how bass boats should treat each other. Only for the most part bass boats ignore etiquette when it comes to kayaks and therefore a problem ensues. Maybe you can help spread the word to other boaters to not cut off kayak fisherman now that you have experienced this on your own.

  4. I'm coming from a kayak to a boat but the adjustment for boat positioning and rod selection is quite different. It took a couple years of trial and error to find the right action rods. I don't have any peripheral vision so I don't have anything behind me as far as tackle or rods. Stability is certainly different but once you get comfortable it's second nature.

  5. Just being able to put a fish in the boat is amazing, if i had your bass cat id spend a lot less time in a kayak lol, Ken you gave it an honest shot and review being a boat fisherman with only a hour of practice in one you did great. Notice he says his First Kayak tournament lol
