My Best Largemouth Yet on the Fly Rod | Streamer Fishing the Huron River at Island Lake

Mid August fly fishing on the Huron River at Island Lake State Recreation Area near Brighton, Michigan, with all access from inside the park. Conditions were tough and low, and the day actually started with another angler chewing me out because nothing was biting for him. Things went differently for me. As the day went on the streamer bite turned on, and I ended up landing a 17 inch largemouth, my personal best on the fly rod so far.

Setup for this trip: Sage Arrow 5wt 9′ with a Lamson Purist II, fishing mostly streamers.
