Starting in 50’s and 60’s the Patomic river has been one of my favorite fishing destinations! From the upstream rocky rapids for smallmouth to the tide water grass beds of the lower Potomac, it has it all! Pollution was a problem in those early years but with the help of Ralph Nader and Lady Bird Johnson, the river was cleaned up! Look at it now, pristeen grass beds and millions of bass!

Nice story Roland Potomac River is my favorite
Love your stories.
Love your stories. You are also a great inspiration to people in my age group, 76. It’s great to see you operating your boats, even an Airdrive and even useing a Castnet in your boat. Keep up the great videos, thanks.
Thanks, Roland for another great story you you are a great storyteller. We can’t get enough of them. Keep them coming.
Roland has always had a special knack for story telling and keeping your attention. A national treasure for sure!
Love your YouTube videos Roland. Been watching you for lots of years. Was wondering if you keep up with Bobby Bare. I loved your fishing shows back in the day when Bobby did your theme song. I still love his music. Would be nice to see you fish with him some day.
So good! I’m the opposite of you—grew up in Florida and moved to Maryland as an adult. I guess I have Nader and Johnson to thank because I was very pleasantly surprised by the bass fishing up here!
Hello Roland. You need to put all your fishing stories in a book and publish it so your stories will be there for future generations. World best true fishing story teller!! See you on Headwaters 🎣🎣🎣.
Always love the stories. What great adventures you have had!! Keep em coming!🇺🇸
Pretty cool story😊😊😊
I remember the old Potomac. It’s a pretty awesome fishery now.
Thanks for the stories Roland!
Yes, the Potomac River was so polluted that it used to catch on fire. Roland, did you ever come up river towards Hagerstown and fish for the smallmouth in the Potomac?
My God, it seems impossible to me, but I remember watching you when I was a kid back in the 1970s on Saturday afternoons. It looks like you haven't aged either. That seems impossible to me too. Thanks for all of those pleasant memories.
Roland! My pops and I have been a fan of you since forever! As Virginia boys, always loved the fact you grew up in MD and fished the Potomac and other big river watersheds! It was a pleasure meeting you at the bass master on the James River in 89/90. I was just a thigh high kiddo but you made time to say hi and chat with my pops and I. It was awesome. I’ll never forget it!
