October bass fishing is upon us! With those cooler temps that means those bass are moving up shallow and right now the vegetation is the thickest it will be all year! That means a wide array of lures and presentations are effective; both from the boat and from the bank! In this video, we’ll go over some of the best lures that have been working so far this fall and what you can expect as the water gets cooler. #fishing #bassfishing #fishingtips

Do you fish topwater baits in the fall? What are your favorites?
My top baits/lures in September were a wacky rigged green pumpkin bps stick-o/yum dinger (black with blue flake if it was dirty water) A strike king bitsy flip jig with a yum craw chunk in green pumpkin and a shad jerkbait. I have been catching more on a shad crankbait the last few days after watching some vids on YouTube and messing with my retrieves. I also got some on the choppo or walking bait in bone and 1 on a shad popper. I cant wait to learn October next!
An excellent list of lures. I never would have thought years ago that I would be throwing a squarebill as mich as I am now. Such a great lure!
So, for me, in the past, I haven't Bass fished too much from late August through fall, but this year, I am. At least though October because from November through February I do my trout fishing. So, this is all kind of new for me and learning at the same time. I'm normally a Finesse angler and from the bank, so the hard baits and top water are new for me. Except frogs. I have used frogs before. I will definitely take what you have shared and use your suggestions. Thanks for the video.
Yes. Dark purple buzzbait, probably 3/8 ounce.
Great video and some great information! I really like using a walking bait in the fall. Thanks for sharing with us buddy!
Hey, new shades, look'n stylish…speaking of losing gear in the drink, I "Lowbrowed" some pieces of HDPE cutting boards to the front and rear of my Raider's gear troughs. They catch the tips and butts of most my rods. I gotta remember that tail weighted bait…easier than walking the dog in a kayak.
Great info as always. I look forward to your videos.
I'm old school if it is calm my go to are the torpedo and Rapala little breeze it's the hula popper or jointed jitterbug
Ned rig with a small green TRD worm. Been working it from docks.
I love a devil's horse. They are such an overlooked old school bait. Great for shallow water and around the outside of vegetation.
Love those baits! Great video! Thanks!
Those are some really nice fish! I caught my biggest bass this year on a Ozark Trails white squarebill. That was back in the spring.
No, because the fish around me haven’t gotten the memo about coming up shallow, they haven’t been very aggressive. They want to eat flukes though so it’s not all bad.
I've been throwing a small white buzzbait with a grub for a trailer and caught a few fish. Nothing giant but at least it was something.
