Think big, flashy and noisy when selecting lures to catch bass in muddy, dirty, or stained water. A bassโ sight is hindered in muddy water so the fish has to rely on its other senses to hone in on prey. Bass are equipped with a lateral line which works like an ear and detects vibrations resulting from water displacement. So big lures that create lots of flash are easier for bass to see and lures that create plenty of noise and vibration allow bass to detect the commotion through the fishโs lateral line. TackleJunky81 breaks it all down for you here.

@6:48 that real fast, one more time. Haha
Do you lighter baits in darker waters and darker baits in clearer water
How are you gonna talk to me about fishing when you donโt even catch any fish , nah Iโm joking , nice video gave some good ideas for some different structures, nice video GL to you
A recent university study found that bass cannot tell the difference between white and chartreuse and the only colors they see are red, blue, green. They canโt tell the difference between black and blue. This really makes a lot of sense out of my 35 years of fishing and has seriously cut down on how many different soft plastics and baits I buy and no more JJโs Magic etc!
I feel so much better when I see a pro get a lure caught up in the weeds, bushes, trees etc. Thanks for showing that you're human
I have better luck in stained water with black and blue than anything
Shit all this bs could not get a fish ๐
What is he using to shoot this video for a stand?
You said stained use darker colors but then throw a white and green pepper chatterbait?
Well at least you caught….something…lol..thanks for info
Largemouth bass cannot tell the difference between white and chartreuse.
Iโm not even kidding I just bought that lure and probably my 15 cast I caught a 23 inch pike
Yeah that stained, muddy water is real tough sometimes. Especially when fishing from land. Cause unless you have the best spot with structure and coverage its gonna be tough fishin open waters. But those bright colors work. Great video thanks!
Great tutorial video my friend! ๐ฃ๐๐ผ
I've always been told to use dark colors in stained muddy water …
He's talking about & throwing light colors in stained water, on a bright sunny day, into spots with zero shade. Catches zero fish. Right after he says use light colors he mentions using black & blues in the same breath. (Way to cover all your bases.) I have found that light colors disappear in dark water. Stick with black & blues as it creates a more visible silhouette. I've found that chatterbaits work well also due to the blade creating vibration in the water that triggers the lateral line sensory system in the fish since they can't rely on their vision to find food.
Showing an telling tips without catching fish! I've learned so much. now I'm ready for the open muddy water ๐
I throw dark tubes, black senkos, I cleaned out a cloudy pond the other day using a black and yellow booyah spinnerbait
You forgot to catch a fish
This guy never catches any fish…
Great Info man.
zero fish….lots of talking…no great info…super lame gloves

Great information! Thank you for NOT editing the snag๐คช your Honesty is respected ๐
Ha! Nice tips, bro! But no fish. I caught a four pounder today using a $2 Walmart crank. I do it almost everyday! ๐บ(you can see my fish for free with no ads on Fishbrain.) @dougethug ๐๐ผ
